Step into a galaxy far, far away as the Tangent Gallery again becomes an immersive recreation of the Mos Eisley Cantina!

It is a lawless time.

Crime syndicates, corporations, and bandits compete for resources –
spice, booze, hyperfuel, weapons, death sticks, harlotry and medicine.

The Empire is too incompetent to reign us in and too cruel to bother.
Corruption runs rampant, from the Senate to Imperial High Command, local checkpoints and everywhere in between.

Fascist tyranny breeds opportunity in the Outer Rim, and
greed can be a powerful ally.

While the local garrison has seized our theater,
officers can be bought and stormtroopers are outnumbered.
If the time comes, they may find it harder to hold than it was to take.

This is the underbelly, the spaceport hive where all the gangsters, thugs, trash, and scoundrels of the galaxy come to gamble, find work, and drink to oblivion when they can’t. Here you can bargain for whatever you desire, and business is booming.

Just watch your step, this place can be a little rough.

Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk 2024

Lock your doors and board up the windows! The 14th Annual Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk returns on Saturday October 5, 2024, and registration starts at 3pm outside of Impression 5 Science Center in the Riverside Parking Lot.

It is strongly encouraged that zombies bring donations for the Greater Lansing Food Bank, and those ghoulish givers will be entered in a drawing for a prize pack worth $100. The walking dead are invited to compete in our Best Zombie Contest at 4pm (with adult and kid categories) for a total prize package valued at over $200.

Afterwards, the horde will be given instructions before being unleashed on the unsuspecting citizens. Traffic will come to a stand still as we slowly make our way to the steps of the Capitol for the most amazingly horrific photo shoot that Mid-Michigan has ever seen.

Z-Walkers must have a ticket to participate, and all ages of the undead are welcome. The advance ticket price is $5 each, and kids 4 & under walk for free.

SCHEDULE
• Saturday October 5, 2024
• 3pm- Registration at Riverside Parking Lot of Impression 5
• 4pm- Best Zombie Contest hosted by Z-Walk Founder
• 4:30pm- Horde pre-Z-Walk photo shoot
• 4:40pm- Instructions for Z-Walk given by Zombie Bride
• 4:45pm- Z-Walk starts heading toward the Capitol
• 5:30pm- Horde photo shoot at the Capitol
CONTESTS
$100 Prize Pack Drawing- Bring donations for Greater Lansing Food Bank to be entered
$200 Total Prize Package for Best Zombie- adult & kid categories
TICKETS
• Zombies must have a ticket to participate
• Advance tickets $5 each (Price is $10 on the day of the Walk)
• Kids 4 & under walk for free
• Eventbrite service fees will apply to all online sales

How-To Halloween 2024

The lost world of DINOSAURS roars to life as we celebrate our 10th year of How-To Halloween! We’ve teamed up with Impression 5 Science Center once again to bring you an outdoor festival which is FREE to attend featuring:
• Interactive Attractions
• Dinosaur Adventure
• Trick-or-Treating
• Live Entertainment
• Make-n-Takes
• Creative Vendors
• Character Meet-&-Greets
• Costume Contests and more
Travel back in time as you explore a trail of prehistoric creatures and meet different species of baby dinos with the guidance of an experienced Raptor Wrangler. But beware of genetically engineered beasts on the loose including a giant T-Rex rampaging through a fleet of Jurassic vehicles.
There is also special programming inside Impression 5 Science Center (regular admission fee to enter) including hands-on experiences with live reptiles like Winston the Tegu, a huge Argentine back & white lizard, along with a collection of critters and adoption opportunities from Saving Scales Reptile Rescue.

Dokidokon 2024 – Theme:Isekai

Dokidokon is ‘A Convention With Heart’. It’s our motto for a reason, and for the past 5 years we’ve put our love and passion into hosting this convention every July!

Doki is primarily an anime and gaming convention which takes place in Kalamazoo Michigan over the summer. We do welcome cosplay and fandoms outside of anime and gaming such as those in the furry community, Lolita community, comic cons, and more!

At Doki you can expect a wide range of events planned over the course of a weekend. We have panels, concerts, workshop events, a vendor room for you to spend way too much money in, special guests you can get autographs from, cosplay gatherings and more!

If you enjoy gaming you can enjoy our very own Tabletop game room and Video game room! If you need a quiet space to retreat and relax in our manga room/quiet room is perfect for this.

Over 2,000 people attend Dokidokon and with your continued support we are growing each year! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you very much for showering the love back on our staff. We couldn’t run this event without you, and we hope to become a convention you look forward to year after year.
