Otaku Trivia Night: The Ultimate Battle of Anime Knowledge
Join Born Otaku for a night of anime trivia that will put your otaku knowledge to the test! Bring your friends and form a team, or come solo and join one of ours. We’ll be covering all your favorite anime shows and characters, from classics like Dragon Ball Z to newer hits like My Hero Academia.
In addition to the main trivia competition, we’ll also have mini-games and activities throughout the night, including a anime drawing contest challenge and video game play time.
Whether you’re a casual anime watcher or a hardcore otaku, this trivia night is for you! Show off your knowledge, compete for prizes, and connect with other anime fans in your community. We can’t wait to see you there!

Be sure to check out the panel, convention-style, presented by the Glotaku family and community, where you can learn more about anime, manga, and gaming. Finally, end the night with a showing of an iconic anime movie (to be voted upon on instrgram the week of the lounge).

Penguicon 2023
Penguicon is a not-for-profit, community-run convention for open source software, science fiction, music, gaming, DIY, and more. Panel topics include technology, science, eco/green, literature, costuming, food, gaming (board and video), webcomics, action/adventure, music, film, anime and an after dark event. .This is a big hang out for ALL areas of the geek/nerd community. What better way to meet people who wave the geek/nerd flag? People come to Penguicon to learn about securing their network, and also how to make their own cheese. They learn how to create chiptunes on their gameboy, and come listen to sci-fi. There is also the Maker Market which is like a dealer room except they don’t accept commodities, only thing’s people have designed themselves. If you need a place to recharge, check out the con suite which has free soda and food all week long.
Penguicon is a convention tailored mainly for adults. While kids are welcome, there are no special passes or events for them. Please keep that in mind.

Here’s your chance! Learn the Ins and Outs from some of Canterbury’s favorite cosplayers. Have dinner, run elbows, ask questions and show off your own personal works of art. A panel of speakers will be here to help out with all your cosplays needs.
ALL AGES welcome, as well as all levels of cosplay experience and characters from ALL types of fandom – sci-fi, anime, superhero, children’s, horror, etc!
