If you have never played a LARP (live-action role-playing game) before, think of a good book you have read. Remember how that one character in the book just seemed to survive it all, against all odds? Remember the character that nearly died while saving the life of 10 others and became the hero? Ever wished you could be in that situation? Now you can! You actually get to become your character, be in a battle, cast the magic, and swing the sword.

Shifted Lands LARP takes place in the fantasy world of Aldretha, which is surrounded by an endless sea of magical mist. For hundreds of years lands have shifted into and out of this mist, and for hundreds of years these lands have brought new allies and enemies, heroes and villains, victories and failures… Now a brave new land has opened its doors and exploration is just over the next hilltop.

Halloween Comic Fest 2023

Halloween ComicFest (HCF) is the comic book industry’s premiere fall event – a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away specially published comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops. HCF is the perfect event to experience comic shops as destinations for Halloween and horror-themed comic books, collectibles, and other merchandise! In other words, Halloween ComicFest is the Spooky Free Comic Book Day!

Every year, on the last Saturday in October, the industry comes together to give away free comics and encourage both curious, first-time comic book readers and seasoned comic book fans to flock to the best place in the comic book community: local comic shops. Each one is unique in its community, with a style and personality all its own, and each one carries a full line of spooky comics, graphic novels, toys and related products. Local comic shops are the hubs of our community, where fans can come together to discover new comics, make lifelong friends, and find a sense of commonality.

Major publishers such as DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Dynamite Entertainment, and Image Comics, along with a slew of independent publishers, put out free comics for fans to enjoy at the thousands of local comic shops that participate in Halloween ComicFest, a.k.a. Spooky Free Comic Book Day! Over the years, Halloween ComicFest has featured a variety of beloved horror-themed titles such as Hellboy, Goosebumps, John Constantine: Hellblazer, and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, as well as other popular titles such as TMNT, Pokémon, and Spider-Man.

Flint Superhero 5K Race & 1K Fun Run 2023

Your registration for the Superhero 5k or 1k Fun Run goes directly to help child survivors of human trafficking, abuse, and neglect by providing them with hope, help, and healing. Voices for Children Advocacy Center serves the Flint Area, and Genesee, and Shiawassee Counties. All funds raised will benefit children who are survivors of human trafficking, abuse, or neglect.

Detroit Doll Show 2023

It’s $5 per person plus tax. You can also pay at the $5 cash or $7 per person with credit card or by cash app. The program will include Fun Photos, Most Adorable Reborn, Doll Look-Alike-Contest (where you dress like your doll and strut the runway for a prize), Games, Arts & Craft, Live Entertainment, DJ, Legacy Award Presentation, Diorama Display and opportunity to shop with doll manufactures, handmade doll makers, professional artists and food vendors. In addition, panel discussion in regards to the ” Negative Impact of Colorism in our Community.

Knights and Nobles and Rogues, or Kanar, is one of the games from Kanar Gaming Enterprises, Inc. We are one of the longest running games in the state of Michigan with over 30 years of role playing, fighting and magic under our belts. Our lands, 40 acres in Milan, Michigan, welcome many players once a month to get together and traverse the forest and swamp in search of adventure, money, mayhem or maybe a bit of it all. We welcome you to join us and set off on your own thrilling tale. Welcome to Kanar.

Our events are open to those 18 years and older. Your first event is free and if you have any questions you are welcome to message us. Also check out our member hosted event “Afters” for post event cool down, food, and socializing.
