Magic Sword Concert with Mega Ran and Starbenders at the El Club
Magic Sword
Magic Sword is an American electronic trio from Boise, Idaho, known for their enigmatic presence and immersive performances. The group consists of three members: The Keeper (red, keyboard, audio-visual), The Seer (blue, guitar), and The Weaver (yellow, drums). They perform wearing cloaks and illuminated masks, maintaining anonymity and adding a theatrical element to their shows.
Their music blends electronic synthwave with elements of rock, creating a sound reminiscent of 1980s science fiction and fantasy soundtracks. Magic Sword’s debut album, Magic Sword Vol. 1, was released in 2013, accompanied by a comic book that expands on their unique mythology. Their tracks “In the Face of Evil” and “The Way Home” were featured in the video game Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, and “In the Face of Evil” appeared in the official trailer for the film Thor: Ragnarok.
Known for their high-energy performances and elaborate stage setups, Magic Sword offers audiences a captivating and otherworldly experience that transcends traditional concert formats.
Mega Ran
Teacher/Rapper/Hero/Author/Guinness World Record Holder! People will remember Mega Ran for his daring leap from teaching into video game remixing which led to a Capcom cosign, but Ran’s penchant for storytelling has impressed gamers while garnering respect from Hip-Hop’s harshest critics, proving he never left the classroom. Ran’s unique combination of fantasy and introspective genre-bending hip-hop has found its way all over the world.
Starbenders
Starbenders have conjured a cosmic blend of defiant punk (such as on their 2016 debut Heavy Petting), melodic pop and glittering neo-glam.

Mega Ran Concert at New Dodge Lounge
One band, one sound. 3MB (3 Man Band) is the collective name of the trio of Mega Ran; nerdcore pioneer, Teek Hall; 2X Phoenix AZ Rapper Of The Year; and G1ToTheRescue; Billboard charting producer/rapper/vocalist.
The name 3MB is inspired by the WWE wrestling trio of the same name; a short-lived gimmick befallen three mid-card wrestlers just looking for a break. The gimmick: a boy band, who spent more time getting beat up than actually singing their hit songs. Since the dissolution of the faction, two of the members have gone on to be World Champions, while the third has built a successful career as a bit player. Today, the legacy of the Three Man Band lives on in a wrestle-rap project by Mega Ran, Teek Hall and G1ToTheRescue.
3MB the rap group is composed of three Phoenix, AZ-based rappers and performers who share an equal love for pro-wrestling as they do for great beats and challenging hip-hop music from the soul. The three are transplants from rich musical towns: Ran from Philly, Teek from Detroit and G1 from Chicago; all bringing their distinct soul and sound to the project. The three met over music and have since bonded as friends then later family, through podcasts (The top-rated Mat Mania Podcast) and multiple collaborations that have been placed in television, wrestling rings (AEW Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling) and video games (Austin Creed’s UpUpDownDown Channel and AEW’s Fight Forever).

It’s a director’s commentary of my adventures during the year of 2019 in the Michigan Geek Scene.
