We want you to feel comfortable enough to be yourself in an open and inclusive environment. Our mission is to create an avenue for all People of Color to share their literary gift to the world.
Since 2009, we’ve been a valuable resource for fans of all colors, with important news and updates. We never rest , and are always looking to improve and expand our industry by giving back to the community, stories that reflect us. Black Sci Fi, Manga, Comics, Afrofuturism, CosPlay and more… Come on out June 8th, 2024 and have fun with us.

Greetings and Happy New Year, friends of the Motor City Black Age. For the first time ever, we are starting a black comix pop up. Creators and artists will be live and in person February 17th, 2024, from 12pm- 6pm. If you are a collector of black comix and more this is the place to be February 17th. Come on out and get your superhero on. We strongly encourage you to bring the kids out for this event. There will be roughly 15 vendor creators from the Detroit metropolitan area for you to meet and greet. The creatives will have their self-published Graphic Novels. Comics, Prints, Merchandise and more… There will be live music and an Afrofuturist Art raffle. And one more thing, there is free parking at the Art Block, 1411 Holden Street. Detroit, Michigan 48208

Its an annual gathering of Comic Book Creators, Writers, Cosplayers, Gamers and retailers of color, who create and sell material that caters to readers of all ages. Here lies the final chapter in the 2016 Year in Review series. You might be asking you self: why are you releasing the last part in October of 2017? Originally, I was going to finish this series in early 2017 but events kept happening and this project was pushed back. Let’s look at it this way, this final review can give you a chance to see what the events were like last year and check out a few of the things that you might have missed. This final chapter talks about my time at the Grand Rapids Comic Con, Youmacon and the Motor City Black Age of Comics. Considering that these events are around the corner at the time of this article’s publishing, I feel it is a timely and relevant release. Enjoy.
