Con Ja Nai (CJN) is our annual “not a convention” anime convention. CJN is free and is our way of spreading love for anime and Japanese culture throughout the UofM and greater Ann Arbor community (or even beyond)!

LTUX 2024

LTUX is a FREE annual campus-wide expo at Lawrence Technological University that combines games, esports, & anime to showcase local talent in the form of local game showcases, cosplay workshops, gaming tournaments, panels, vendors, and more!

Events include panels, indie game demos, an ExtraLife charity stream, an Escape Room, Psychic Drive Arcade, and more! Pop in our Discord to interact with other attendees and join the fun.

Cadillac Pop Culture Convention 2024

Cadillac Pop Culture Con will be a fun filled event. Highlighting all forms of Popular culture from comic book, Sci-Fi, Horror, and so much more. There will be gaming too. Look out for Magic the Gathering, Warhammer 40k, Dungeons and Dragons, Cards against Humanity, Ultimate Werewolf, etc etc.

Gamers for Giving is a streaming marathon and LAN party that raises money in support of Gamers Outreach programs. Ticket sales and donations provide entertainment devices to hospitalized children.

Penguicon 2024

Penguicon is a not-for-profit, community-run convention for open source software, science fiction, music, gaming, DIY, and more. Panel topics include technology, science, eco/green, literature, costuming, food, gaming (board and video), webcomics, action/adventure, music, film, anime and an after dark event. .This is a big hang out for ALL areas of the geek/nerd community. What better way to meet people who wave the geek/nerd flag? People come to Penguicon to learn about securing their network, and also how to make their own cheese. They learn how to create chiptunes on their gameboy, and come listen to sci-fi. There is also the Maker Market which is like a dealer room except they don’t accept commodities, only thing’s people have designed themselves. If you need a place to recharge, check out the con suite which has free soda and food all week long.
Penguicon is a convention tailored mainly for adults. While kids are welcome, there are no special passes or events for them. Please keep that in mind.

RETURN OF THE BAY-CON! In its third year, BAY-CON is bigger and better than ever! Looking for a special vinyl record or cassette tape? We’ve got you! Want to recover your favorite childhood toy, or pass on that love to the next generation? BAY-CON is the place to be! Like video games? Us, too! Enjoy Star Wars? The Force is strong with BAY-CON! Want to eat tacos from an amazing food truck? Come on over! Want to own the n00bs with your command of nerd trivia? Show us your skilzzz!
BAY-CON began as an idea in 2019. While the world shut down, BAY-CON hibernated, waiting to once again break free. BAY-CON broke free from its slumber in the spring of 2021, seeing over 600 participants! BAY-CON struck back in 2023 with over 1400 participants! We are so excited to see you all in 2024!
RETURN OF THE BAY-CON will again feature a large vendor space, AMAZING taco truck, and vintage video gaming, cosplay contest, Zombie Lab, Trivia, and so Much MORE!!!
Sponsored by Bay College student organizations, BAY-CON is a fundraiser for the college’s student organizations and athletic teams who staff the event. The event is FREE, although a donation of $2 for those 10 and over is recommended.
This page will be updated with BAY-CON events as they are confirmed, so you’ll know what to expect, and knowing is half the battle!
We can’t wait to see you there!
Location: Room 952 JHUC on the Bay College campus (900 building on the southern side campus – FREE parking in lot A!)

April Steampunk Meetup at Relish

Earth Day is April 22, and that’s as good a reason as any to have a Steampunk meetup. And don’t we Steampunks want to make the Earth a better place?
This time we will be trying a new meeting place – the Relish restaurant in Ann Arbor. The restaurant is located on the outer circle of Briarwood Mall at State St. and I-94, and is attached to the Kensington Hotel. Join us at Relish for an evening of good friends, good food, and good libations, all with a Steampunk twist.
As always Steampunk garb is suggested but never required.
