Chiptune Workshop and nmlstyl w/ Hypnogram Concert
Free Tech Workshop and Concert at Neutral Zone!
High School aged teens! Come to this two-part workshop + concert at the Neutral Zone featuring live chiptune music and glitch art. Learn how to make glitch art and chiptune music and stick around for a concert featuring chiptune music from Hypnogram and NMLSTYL as well as live glitch art from Errata.
Chiptune: Learn how to produce electronic music using a Nintendo Gameboy! Chiptune musician Hypnogram will teach you the basics of songwriting and sound design using free software you can run on your computer, phone, or any Gameboy game system. Participants in the workshop will learn on backlight-modded DMG-01 Gameboys loaded with the newest version of the music-making ROM, LittleSound DJ.
Glitch Art: Glitch art is a way of making art that celebrates the beauty of glitches and errors. Glitch artist and UM lecturer D’oh!nut will teach you about the art theory behind glitch art, demonstrate multiple methods of creating beautiful analog and digital glitches, and teach you some of the easiest ways to make glitch art on your own computer using free software.
April 11th at Neutral Zone. Workshop will begin at 4PM and the concert starts at 7PM. Free and open to all high-school age teens.
