Final album of photos from JAFAX 21. Enjoy the photos from the annual anime expo in Grand Rapids.
The Japanese Animation Film and Art Expo returned to DeVos Hall and the Amway Grand hotel for their second year at these locations. This event ran into a few problems last year (long registration waits, confusing signage, etc). Despite all of that, the convention was a good time overall. Did they learn from the growing pains of being a convention that essentially started over? Find out.

Anime, books, medieval fun, cosplay on the beach and steampunk invasions are a few of the fun things to look forward to this week. 8 different events.
Don’t know what to do for the week? Well, check out what’s going on for this weekend.
Over the years, I’ve attended many conventions and events throughout Michigan. However, due to multiple events occurring on the same weekend, I reside myself to the fate of attending one event and giving it my full attention. Dokidokon was going to be another case of an event I could not attend due to prior commitments. I figured I would read various comment sections and forums about the new anime convention. Then, out of nowhere a longtime friend and supporter of MIGeekScene, Emily Auten offered to write a guest review about the event. Being a convention fixture herself and a writer for Nerd Much, I trusted her opinion. Want to know what Emily thought of Dokidokon? Read on, my dear friends. Read on.

Youmacon is the biggest anime convention of Michigan. Enjoy.
Over the years, I’ve attended many conventions and events throughout Michigan. I’ve tackled all of the events by myself because being a one man band for convention coverage is the norm for me. I figured that would be the case for the 2017 Grand Rapids Comic Con too. However, a friend and supporter of MIGeekScene (by the name of Tiffany Ewigleben) reached out and offered to help me with the event. Since I enjoyed her review of the convention, from last year, I decided to take her up on the offer. Without further adieu, please venture forth and read this guest review of the Grand Rapids Comic Con.
Drunk on Comics did an interview with Joe (aka the guy who runs this site aka ME). If you want to know more about me and how MIGeekScene started feel free to check out this interview.
