Canterbury Village Medieval Faire June 8th & 9th 2024

ALL AGES WELCOME!
Castle turrets and ramparts will be the backdrop for a wide range of entertainment as you stroll through this outdoor medieval adventure at Canterbury Village!
Be entertained by ogres, musicians, jesters, magicians, fire breathers, the mad queen, strolling performers, and more – all set within the quaint, cobblestone-pathed Canterbury Village! With a REAL castle!
Knights in shining armor jousting on their great steeds; the clash and clang of swords in combat demonstrations; the cheery sound of minstrels singing and instruments being strummed; gasps and laughs and cheers from the crowd as performers dare to eat fire, dance on stage, and play out hilarious shows.
Shop costuming, fine jewelry, chain mail creations, magical crystals, shining crowns, capes and cloaks, swords and shields, and all sorts of other medieval wares at the vendor tents and village stores!
There will be plenty of activities for the entire family! Afterwards sit and enjoy a cold drink or a pint of ale or mead on the C-Pub patio – or grab a turkey leg! After all, no faire is complete without one!

Canterbury Village Medieval Faire – Royal Feast June 9th

Step into a time gone by and experience a true medieval feast set in the opulence of Canterbury Castle in Lake Orion, MI – where all proceeds will go to the Jay Towers Charity – Jay’s Juniors!

Guests will begin arriving at 6:30 PM to start an evening of feasting and festivities. The banquet will commence at 7:15 where you, our honored guest, will be served a delicious five course feast that is truly fit for Royalty.

Throughout the evening you will experience a variety of entertainment from the Royal Court and Mary Queen of Scots with court jesters, pipers, minstrels, troubadours, and a cast of characters that will fill the court with song and merriment! After your sumptuous repast you can enter into the Royal Costume contest where one lucky courtier has the opportunity to win $100 for the best costume after which one can trip it as ye go, on the light fantastic toe to the music from the Royal DJ. Truly a remarkable and memorable evening all set in the Canterbury Castle in the King Richard Ballroom!

Magical Realm Fantasy Faire 2023

For one weekend a year, in this one magical place, anything is possible. You might see Renaissance and Medieval lords and ladies keeping company with vikings and pirates. You might see a Steampunk starship pilot playing cards with mermaids and fairies. You might see mysterious figures lurking in the shadows… but maybe you are just seeing things.

Visitors can traipse their way along our main thoroughfare and visit craftsmen, merchants, and artisans. Children can enjoy the Kid’s Kingdom crafts, games, story times, and even go dancing with the Fairy Court! Adults can sip some mead or beer in our Mead Hall, and everyone is welcome to enjoy the food together in our dining hall. Browse through Author’s Alley or enjoy entertainers, musicians, sword fighters, jugglers, dancers, and bards as you wander your way around the Realm. While you are here, don’t forget to check out the magical artifacts in our special Fairy Tale Museum!

What is the Royal Quest?

Tragedy has struck the Kingdom, and you are needed to help the Fairy Court defeat the forces of evil. Weakened by a darkness that has swept the world, the Magical Realm faces the return of an old enemy. After a century of banishment, the Lord of Shadows has come to overthrow the Queen of Summer and the King of Earth, and take control of the Court. Standing alongside the Queen and King are the Ladies of Spring, Autumn, and Winter, as well as the Lords of Air, Water, and Fire. Other members of the Fairy Court will guide you along your quests to discover the weakness of the Lord of Shadows and defeat him once and for all!

Be entertained by ogres, musicians, jesters, magicians, fire breathers, mad Queens, over 30 entertainers and more, all set to the backdrop of a real Castle!

Knights in shining armor jousting on their great steeds will provide all the excitement of a medieval tournament as two Knights in full armor charge each other with levelled lances, mounted on their mighty steeds, each attempting to unhorse the other! That is just the beginning of the entertainment, there will be plenty of activities for the entire family, demonstrations of actual medieval combat, along with many other entertainers. Afterwards sit and enjoy a cold drink or a pint of ale or mead and feast on a Turkey Leg, at the C-Pub Bar & Grill
