Continuing with the previous theme of musicians in Michigan, for the month of March, I will be highlighting the excellent Nerdcore/Nerdcore Adjacent artists found in our state. Grand Rapids-based rapper, producer, writer, and fellow cheese enthusiast, FrivoulousShara creates original songs about a myriad of topics. If you want a song on seeing the true colors of people, she has you covered with “Snakes in the Grass.” She even has a song based around the 616, for those in the know. If raps about anime, video games, and other pop culture icons are your thing, FrivolousShara has an assortment of songs to choose from. She is extremely versatile.

In recent years, she was featured on the official soundtracks for CEO Gaming and Combo Breaker, which are huge events for the Fighting Game Community. That is quite the compliment and accomplishment for her talents. Since we are talking about fighting games, this brings us to her song “Free For All.” I appreciate the general theme of wanting a worthy challenger while verbally destroying your opponent as you destroy them on Super Smash Bros. While my lyrical analysis and interpretation would not come close to breaking this song down properly, I think it is a fun song with a haunting beat. Check it out.
