Pros
Held in one central location. Depending on your stride, you could access any event or attraction within 5 minutes.

Over 80 Artists in the Artist Alley
Over 50 vendors/exhibitors in the main convention room

C4’s badges always feature cool custom artwork, each year. The badges were made of a sturdy plastic that would not tear away from the lanyard easily. Also, I appreciate that the badges featured the event’s hours of operation.

The C4 prom was a nice social hangout for attendees. During the prom, a silent auction was held. Attendees could bid on pieces of art, created the previous night during the Drink and Draw. The proceeds from the auction would go to the Hero Initiative. This charity provides medical and financial support for comic creators.

I enjoyed attending the comic book focused panels of Mark Waid and Gene Ha. It is rare that I attend a panel, nowadays. Mark and Gene were very generous with their knowledge and stories of their respective times in the comic book industry.

Water stations throughout the event was a plus.

Cons
The aisleways were crowded at times due to a high volume of attendees. There were times that I would forgo certain aisles during heavy traffic.

The Grand Traverse Resort 2026 discounted rate for C4 was outrageously expensive. A two day stay would cost $576. For a room that doesn’t have a microwave and a shower with no door or curtain, $500 plus is asking for too much. While I appreciate that the resort hosts C4 each year, I hope that their “discounted” rate lowers.

Do I recommend attending the event?
Yes. I enjoy attending the Cherry Capital Comic Con every year and I don’t see that changing any time soon.
