For the month of February, I will be celebrating and highlighting the awesome musicians based out of Michigan. The Detroit based Super Guitar Bros have been releasing excellent acoustic covers of video game and pop culture songs for years. Steve and Sam are fantastic guitarists that utilize their talents to create fun arrangements of familiar songs. You can’t go wrong with this staple in the VGM scene.

Studiopolis Act 1 is a standout track on the Sonic Mania Original Soundtrack. Composer Tee Lopes created a memorable song that easily fits in within the pantheon of great Sonic songs throughout the years. The original song featured synths, percussion, piano, and bass amongst other instruments. I don’t know how they did it but they managed to take an already complex song and put their unique spin on it with a flawless execution. Even their music video for Studiopolis is pretty fun, too.
