Axis is a original song that is a good blend of chiptune and prog metal. This song takes you on a journey. At one point, it feels like you are racing against the clock to escape a self destructing area. I enjoy the layers of chiptunes throughout the song. Also, I appreciate Dan’s guitar playing. While he has the shred chops to do so, he doesn’t fall into technical guitar wankery while he solos. He plays with feeling. This song is so well crafted that I can envision it with a live band for most of the chiptune parts.
