DESCRIPTION:Ladies and gentlemen\, we are pleased to announce that after a 6 year hiatus\, we are bringing the ORIGINAL convention\, MeggaXP\, back to the city of Jackson\, Michigan on Saturday\, August 23rd\, 2025!!!\nA lot has changed since MeggaXP V (2019)\, but we simply could not let our 10 year anniversary go away without bringing the band back together for (at least) one more go!! \nWhat is MeggaXP?\nMeggaXP stands for Michigan’s Entertainment\, Gaming\, Geek and Arts Experience! It is like a “comic-con” but instead of being centered around comics\, it focuses on all different aspects of pop culture and geekdom! \nWhat can I do at MeggaXP?\nWell\, it’s really more about what you won’t be doing. Unlike a lot of events that are just a vendor room\, we have a LOT of different things to do. For starters\, the bread and butter of any convention IS our vendor room. We will have 60 tables of artists and vendors selling anything from original artwork to posters to video games to comics to Pokemon cards and more! You really don’t know what you’ll find in there! Then\, we have a GAMING ROOM that is FILLED with tables for tabletop gaming (RPG\, card games\, board games etc)\, as well as lined with vintage video games\, modern video games\, arcade games\, air hockey\, foosball and more! If that’s not enough\, we will have an auditorium where you can watch the cosplay contest\, participate in live action game shows\, attend panels\, and more! We will also have a Kid’s Con room where you can drop off your littles for a bit while you go sit in on an RPG session or a panel or whatever you want! We will have a few more suprises announced too\, so stay tuned! \nWhat does it cost to attend MeggaXP X?\nWe always have and always will put family first\, which is why MeggaXP is quite affordable to the average American family. For starters – REALLY little kids (3 and under) are FREE. Middle school kids and younger are just $5\, high schoolers (must have student ID) are $10\, and adults are $15 for regular tickets. There are also what are known as MeggaPasses\, which will run you $10 for younger kids\, $20 for high schoolers\, or $25 for adults! DESCRIPTION:Blood Bash is coming back for our 8th iteration of our international horror film festival and convention on Friday\, February 7th (Film Festival Bonus Night) and Saturday\, February 8th (MAIN convention day) in 2025!!!!\nWhat is Blood Bash?? Well\, it’s a celebration of horror like you’ve never experienced before!!! Here are just SOME of the highlights of the show:\nVENDOR ROOM – The true bread and butter of any convention\, our Vendor Room is chock-full of over 50 tables of horror vendors selling anything from movie posters to fake heads to taxidermized real ducklings that are dressed up as Beetlejuice…yes…it was a thing.\nFILM FESTIVAL – If the bread and butter of this festival is the vendor room\, then the steak and eggs is the FILM FESTIVAL portion of this show. Each year we get over a THOUSAND entries into our festival\, and we narrow it down to an elite 42-50 movies each year. Those movies (all shorts) will play during the weekend\, with the semi-finalists playing on Friday night\, and the Finalists playing on Saturday. These films are trying to win “Best In Show\,” “Favorite Actor\,” and “Favorite Actress” awards\, voted on our Blood Bash judging panel and our VIP ticket purchasers!\nCOSPLAY CONTEST – Guys and gals alike can dress in their Saturday best and participate in our cosplay contest! Winners receive a trophy\, a champion’s badge\, some swag\, and a place on the MeggaXP Wall of Fame!!!!\nSCREAM QUEEN CONTEST – Our favorite event of the weekend – – guys and gals can both give it their best scream to try and take home top prize during our scream queen contest! But don’t blow it all on the first try\, at Blood Bash\, the top THREE screamers have to scream AGAIN in the finals! Toss some rings over bottles filled with blood. Throw darts or shoot nerf guns at horror icons. There are a lot of carnival games to be had at the Bash\, and the best part – THEY’RE ALL FREE!!! The people who came thoroughly enjoyed it and asked if we were going to do it again. Well\, we had enough fun and enough people show up that we are definitely going to do it again…. \nWhen?\nFriday Night Megga – LEVEL 2 will be hosted on Friday\, May 3rd\, 2024 – from 7:00 PM until 11:59 PM. \nWhat is this?\nWell\, MeggaXP the convention has been dormant for quite some time\, but we are slowly building back. Basically\, think of this is as a super event for the MeggaXP community that will combine board games\, video games\, card games\, karaoke\, trivia\, bar/arcade night\, and a whole bunch of other stuff. We have a huge list of video games that will be available for people to play\, a ton of board games that will be accessible (or bring your own)\, bring your own Magic / Yu-Gi-Oh / Pokemon decks\, whatever! Anything goes here\, folks! \nSPECIAL EVENTS FOR LEVEL 2:\n9:00 PM – Bar Trivia (teams of up to 3 members)\n10:00 PM – Karaoke CAN start (if people want to sing\, if not\, they can sing whenever they want)\ncac\nTrivia\, you say?\nWe did an online trivia contest last time\, this time we are going to do be doing traditional bar style trivia. Last year\, we had 2513 film submissions from 48 countries\, of which we narrowed down to 60 films from 19 countries that actually screened at the show! The film festival shows an incredible amount of short films every year\, and offers up three main prizes: Best In Show\, Favorite Male Performance\, and Favorite Female Performance!\nBut Blood Bash is WAY more than *just* a film festival! We also will have 40+ horror themed vendors in our vendor room selling anything horror related including prints\, posters\, shirts\, paintings\, one of a kind clothing and accessories\, random oddities\, and so much more!
