Midwest Media Expo 2015

The sister convention to Youmacon. While Youmacon is an anime con, Midwest Media Expo is a popular convention that focuses on the many facets of geek and nerd culture. Are you into animation, comics, sci-fi, video games, table top gaming, role playing, cosplay, tv, film and the internet? Then, this is the convention for you. Nerd Prom 2015

West Michigan Convention Ventures presents Nerd Prom! This is an opportunity for everyone to have a wonderful night out with their significant other and/or with friends. There will be dance lessons, a dinner, dancing, table top and video gaming rooms, as well as a one of a kind party favor for you to take home.

Age restriction:
14-16 minors must have adult (responsible adult of 21 and older) supervision, and 17 and up without supervision.

Attire:
Formal, cosplay encouraged. Ask yourself, what would your character wear to a dance?

Registration/Pricing:
Tickets start at $25. Special package pricing on at-event dining and overnight accommodations features even more ways to make your evening memorable

The Smithsonian Art Museum is bringing its traveling video game art exhibit to Michigan. For roughly 3 months, the Flint Institute of Art will host the exhibit. Over 40 years of history of history will be on display. Video games are now recognized as an artistic medium. Still images, videos, interviews, consoles and playable games will be on display.
