STEAM Gaming & Pizza Party

Join us to play games, eat pizza, raise funds and awareness for our Mobile Makerspace and Lending Library. There is something for everyone, and all ages are welcome. You can experience, hands-on, what we have to offer and celebrate technology. Learning isn’t lame! Funds raised at this event will be used to strengthen our program, and acquire new library resources to offer schools.

Play and hack Minecraft on a Kano computer!
Play cardboard pinball that is powered by Arduino!
Build your own arcade games using Snap Circuits!
Play retro games on a tiny Raspberry Pi!
Use bananas for a controller!
Battle Codeybots, or maybe have a dance off? You decide!
Make Wonder with Dash and Dot!
Take your eyes off the screen for a while and play a brain-teasing board game

The cherry on top: Claim your title as King or Queen of the road in a Mario Kart tournament (details to follow).

Admission is $10 at the door, includes as much pizza as you can eat, beverages, and access to all the games. Stay and play all day, or just hang out for a bit – it’s your call 🙂

If you or your child have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know in advance so that we may do our best to accommodate.

We want to foster a community of knowledge sharing, and share what we have with our community. Our dream is to put our resources within reach of every school in the Detroit Public School system, and beyond. We can introduce STEAM subjects in a fun and inspiring way that was designed especially for children. Educators can share their classroom tips (and more) with each other, and children will be able to share experiences with students at other schools.
