Beetlejuice The Musical at the Wharton Center 3/14-3/19 2023

*Please note individual showtimes down below*

He earned his stripes on Broadway … now the ghost-with-the-most is coming to East Lansing.

It’s showtime! Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. With an irreverent book, an astonishing set, and a score that’s out of this Netherworld, Beetlejuice is “SCREAMINGLY GOOD FUN!” (Variety). And under its uproarious surface (six feet under, to be exact), it’s a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!

Contains strong language, mature references, and a lot of the crazy, inappropriate stuff you would expect from a deranged demon.

Evil Dead The Musical at Stratford Woods Park 10/27-10/29

Book and Lyrics by George Reinblatt
Music by Frank Cipolla, Christopher Bond, Melissa Morris & George Reinblatt.

Based on The Evil Dead series of movies.

Several college students spend the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods, accidentally unleashing an evil terror. In this comedic take on the 80s horror franchise, characters and demons sing and dance to songs written specifically for the musical. And, as in the films, Ash is there to dish out his various one liners and fight the never ending army of deadites.

The musical takes creative liberty by merging the characters and concepts of the three movies into one story (main focus is on the first two in the trilogy), as well as changing sequences for the sake of stage and comedic intent.

You will be entering the woods at Stratford Park to join Ash and his friends in the cabin where the evil terror takes hold. There will be a blood zone where you will be covered in blood by the end of the show. These tickets will be up front and close! Make sure to check the special events listed for the nights performance; there may be costume contests, food trucks and other exciting activities going on at Stratford Park that night.

MC Frontalot (Audio) Interview

MC Frontalot is the Godfather of Nerdcore Hip Hop. Spanning a 15 year career, this influential rapper has left his mark on numerous artists in the realm of music. I decided to take a different approach for this interview. Instead of talking about nerdcore, ad nauseam, we dove into the personal side of Damien Hess. Want to learn about his zombie musical, his favorite MF Doom albums, or why Psychonauts is a top ten game for him? This is the interview for you. Also, we talk about his upcoming album, Net Split or, the Fathomless Heartbreak of Online Itself. Put this on in the background and treat it like a podcast. Enjoy.
