The Motor City Steam Con returned to Detroit for its second year. For the second year in a row, I was not able to fully attend the Motor City Steam Con. Due to my partial absence, I cannot elaborate on what transpired before my arrival. However, it looks like I missed out on quite a few awesome events such as Bollywood dancers at opening ceremonies, a steampunk parade and a steampunk wedding. How did this year’s event stack up to the inauguration? Let’s find out.
Enjoy these photos from Detroit’s finest Steampunk convention, the Motor City Steam Con.
These Year in Reviews are not, what I call, official “reviews”. Like last year, they will be a series of musings, learned lessons and stories of what I experienced through out the year. Of course, reviews are featured but they are blended in with everything. The theme of FIRSTS sum up the beginning, middle and end of my year, as you will see. Enjoy my year of 2016 in the Michigan Geek Scene.

Here are some photos of my journey through 2016. These photos resonated with me for various reasons. This album features pics from JAFAX, GR8bit Live, BlackRock Medieval Fest, and the Motor City Steam Con. Enjoy.
A small album of photos from my visit to the Motor City Black Age of Comics.
Steampunk Attire encouraged, but not mandatory.
Come out and celebrate one of the conerstones of – the Salon. We will Ressurecction this noble tradition as a precursor to Teslacon and Motor City Steam Con. There will be a few lectures on strange and interesting topics. A musical interlude. Things to nibble and imbibe as you mingle and chat. Maybe even a demonstration of manly skill.
Normally, I attend an event from start to finish in order to form a full opinion on it. However, due to a family gathering that I could not miss (due to potential death or immense harm if I did), I was only able to attend the Motor City Steam Con from late Saturday afternoon to the end of the event. My “review” of the event is from the perspective of what I was able to experience in that short amount of time. I hope you will forgive me for not giving the full rundown of everything that this event had to offer.
