Monroe Pop Fest 2019

The 2019 Monroe Pop Fest ( formerly the Monroe Comic-Con ) will take place Saturday, September 14 (9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.) at the MB&T Expo Center.

The 7th Annual 1 day event will feature more than 70 creators, writers, illustrators and actors who will greet the fans, sign autographs, take pictures, and provide panels and Q & A discussions, while many super fans are dressed in their pop culture best. Additional costs may occur with some guests. A popular event is cosplay contest sponsored by Rob Miller Art where a mix of judges determine the best costume winners, presenting CASH prizes and gift packages.

Turn Up The Love: A Steampunk Valentine Event

Join First Friday for a Steampunk Valentine adventure in Historic Downtown Monroe on First Friday, February 1st begining at 6pm.

Dress to impress and indulge your inner Steampunk by stepping out in your fantastical attire.

Check in at the Monroe County Museum at 120 S. Monroe St. for a printed event guide and plenty of family friendly activities.

Events to include: Live music, art, shopping and bar & restaurant deals.

AFTERGLOW for the 21+ crowd begins at 9 pm.

Shipwrecked: First Friday Downtown Monroe

Sure, there were pirates in the Caribbean, but the Great Lakes had them too! The pirates of the Great Lakes may not have had parrots on their shoulders & peg legs…but this event is all about fun & fantasy. So, dress up as your favorite character (pirate, mermaid, lighthouse, shark, etc.) and head downtown for some great maritime themed activities.
