Penguicon is a not-for-profit, community-run convention for open source software, science fiction, music, gaming, DIY, and more. Panel topics include technology, science, eco/green, literature, costuming, food, gaming (board and video), webcomics, action/adventure, music, film, anime and an after dark event. .This is a big hang out for ALL areas of the geek/nerd community. What better way to meet people who wave the geek/nerd flag? People come to Penguicon to learn about securing their network, and also how to make their own cheese. They learn how to create chiptunes on their gameboy, and come listen to sci-fi. There is also the Maker Market which is like a dealer room except they don’t accept commodities, only thing’s people have designed themselves. If you need a place to recharge, check out the con suite which has free soda and food all week long.
Penguicon is a convention tailored mainly for adults. While kids are welcome, there are no special passes or events for them. Please keep that in mind.
The Continuum is a celebration of science-fiction, fantasy, hard science, music, gaming, animation, film and cosplay.
The Continuum is not your typical convention! We stand out with our well-supplied Convention Hospitality Suite, a Saturday Night Costume Ball, a merchandise area with a wide variety of offerings, several tracks of programming of interest to members and a loyal following of staff and panel participants. Our programming includes literature/sci-fi/fantasy, science/space, music and gaming. There is always something of interest to everyone going on! We also have a video room that screens rare anime and fan-created offerings not seen elsewhere. For NaNoWriMo participants, we offer prep workshops and panels focused on writing.
At The Continuum, you can have the type of day where you attend a tea tasting and history lesson before learning to swordfight, take a breather in a panel where your favorite author discusses world building, then end the day by painting miniatures and listening to someone sing about Star Wars.
