Meet iconic and prolific voice actor Jon St. John aka the voice of Duke Nukem. We talk about the Duke, video games and Bacon Jerky (?!) amongst other things.
First batch of photos from Michigan’s largest anime convention. Enjoy.
The voice of Duke Nukem, Jon St. John returns for another fun interview. The interview is a little NSFW-ish due to language.
During part 1, we talk about voice acting influences, video games, favorite concerts, and comedic mishaps from his radio dj days.
During round 2, we talk about new games such as This is the Police and Rad Rodgers. We also talk about his production company and the four hours that changed his life forever.
After attending Youmacon last year for the first time, I headed back to downtown Detroit to experience Michigan’s largest anime convention again. Last year, I didn’t know what to expect. I experienced some good and some bad. Was it going to be the same as my time from last year? Or did the convention improve?
These Year in Reviews are not, what I call, official “reviews”. Like last year, they will be a series of musings, learned lessons and stories of what I experienced through out the year. Of course, reviews are featured but they are blended in with everything. The theme of FIRSTS sum up the beginning, middle and end of my year, as you will see. Enjoy my year of 2016 in the Michigan Geek Scene.
Spring is the season where new life blossoms into the year. Con season really picks up. Warm weather kicks in and everyone is happy to be rid of the cold weather. How did the months of March through early May go? Let’s find out.
The cancellation of this year’s M2X event by the venue was a hard blow for us. The community support has been amazing these past few days, and we would like to thank everyone for their understanding. We haven’t been idle, and we were able to make arrangements with fantastic folks at the Radisson in Farmington Hills so we can still bring something special to you.
Several guests will still be joining us, including Jon St. John and David Eddings, and more to be announced. There will be panels and autograph sessions, cosplay photographers (and all of the cosplay gatherings are, of course, invited), and more. LOTS of details to come.
Oh, one last thing. All of our daytime festivities are totally free. And if you’re looking for a hotel to crash at, the Radisson has offered us some rooms at a crazy low rate. So come on down, you know where the party is at.
