Day & Night of the Living Dead

Find the zombies. Solve the clues. Party with the band!

You’ll start at the Made in Michigan Market and pick up your ticket and first clue. From there you’ll have to figure out where the next zombie is. Once you do, you’ll have to figure out what to say to him/her to get the next clue. Once you do the zombie will stamp your ticket and hand you the clue. When you’ve got all the stamps it’s on to the big tent to party!

Don’t want to hunt for zombies? You can pick up your ticket and head for the party starting at 6:00 p.m.

Don’t want to go to the party? There is a FREE zombie walk through the village starting at 3:00 p.m!

Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk 2018

The 9th Annual Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk invades the Capital City once again on Saturday October 13, 2018, and all ages of the undead are welcome to walk for FREE! We ask participants to bring a nonperishable food donation in support of the Greater Lansing Food Bank, and to assemble at 11:30am inside the Lansing Center by Exhibit Hall C.

Once the donations are collected, the horde members will be given a wristband before being unleashed on the unsuspecting citizens of Lansing, Michigan at high noon. Traffic comes to a stand still as we shuffle our way to the steps of the Capitol for the greatest photo op ever seen. Afterwards, we invite the walking dead to return to the Lansing Center for discounted entry into How-To Halloween to compete for big prizes in our Best Zombie Contest on the main stage and join in all the spooktacular fun at the festival.

An Evening with Novelist Joe Hill

Presented by National Writers Series

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF FRIGHT

Following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Stephen King, Joe Hill brings to his novels a vigor and originality all his own.

A #1 New York Times bestselling author, his work has been highly praised by the likes of Neil Gaiman, Time Magazine and novelist Michael Kortya. Every one of his novels have been optioned by Hollywood, including Horns, which was adapted into a feature film starring Daniel Radcliffe.

Joe Hill will appear on the City Opera House stage for a conversation with Loren Estleman, a literary treasure who has written nearly 80 books. An authority on both criminal history and the American West, Estleman is one of the most critically acclaimed authors of his generation, having received 22 national writing awards.

Hill will talk about his newest book, “Strange Weather,” a short story collection populated by a skydiver, a Silicon Valley teen, and a Florida mall cop. The book’s settings seem normal enough, but “normal” morphs into the strange and launches readers into the throes of the supernatural. Nature herself becomes a sinister and apocalyptic force.

Hill is also author of The Fireman, NOS4A2, Heart-Shaped Box, and Horns. He has earned numerous awards, including the Bram Stoker Award, the British Fantasy Award, and the Eisner Award for Best Writer for the comic series Locke & Key, illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez.
