Metro Detroit’s newest Pop Culture Convention Astronomicon heads into its 4th year!
Blood Bash 2021 is coming to the Commonwealth Commerce Center on February 6th, 2021!
The vendor room will be THE PLACE to be again! Last year we had over 40 tables of vendors selling horror merch, and 2021 promises to bring back amazing vendors selling anything from prints to shirts to baby toes in a bottle – – – yep, if it’s gore or horror you may find these things and more!
HORROR FILM FESTIVAL:
There will once again be an International Horror Film Festival and we will be awarding awards for:
Best In Show (Short)
Favorite Male Performance
Favorite Female Performance
and maybe a few new awards as well?
The carnival games will be returning! That’s right, kids! You will once again be able to play some of your favorite and most twisted carnival games at Blood Bash, and as always they will be free! We will see the return of the games from 2020/2019 and maybe even have some new games to play!
COSPLAY AND SCREAM QUEEN CONTESTS:
Rumor has it that these will be moved up and take place during the regular convention hours in an effort to get the most cosplayers possible to be in them! 2020 saw a TON of amazing cosplays that weren’t around for the actual contest and we’re taking that issue head on in 2021! More on this to follow.
HORROR VIDEO GAME AND TABLETOP GAMES:
You know these will be back! Play some tabletop games, win tickets! Beat certain challenges on games like Castlevania or Zombies Ate My Neighbors – win tickets!

Utilizing an eclectic mix of instruments to create a sound guided by a swath of genres the band uses Sax and Vibraphone to lend a jazz-tinged feel to the sound, while synthesizer and electric and acoustic percussion touch on our industrial roots. With a punk-rock motivated songwriting ethos, the band delivers straight-forward songs while providing plenty of texture and atmosphere along the way!
MAIL ORDER MONSTERS
We’re a three piece group from Grand Rapids Michigan, writing and performing original music using only Commodore 64 computers. Our focus is to make new engaging, original music using the Commodore 64. The group is comprised of three keyboard players, using multiple keyboards connected to Commodore audio circuitry. Our music pushes the Commodore SID sound past its previous limitations as a single SID chip machine, utilizing over 20 audio chips from Commodore computers in our live shows.
Yes, a return to Camp Merrie Woode! As always, the winter one day event is a break from the chilly off-season. Enjoy some RP with a dash of plot and combat sprinkled in. Bring a dish to pass for Saturday evening’s pot luck.
We have reserved the camp from Friday night (after 5pm) until Sunday (3pm). Arrive Friday night, if you wish, or Saturday morning. Feel free to hang out after the event for an evening of board games and getting to know your fellow LARPers out of game.
Camp Merrie Woode is in the Kalamazoo area of Michigan. The cabins (the little houses A-C) have heat!!!! The “tavern” (Harriet Hall) has 2 stoves and 2 ovens for us to use. The bathhouse is up a small hill though..
Let’s rock this!
For over 20 years Shifted Lands has been providing a fun and exciting gaming environment for people just like you. Whether a cunning rogue, brave warrior, or mystical wizard, SL has unlimited potential to help you become the adventurer of your dreams.
If you have never played a LARP (live-action role-playing game) before, think of a good book you have read. Remember how that one character in the book just seemed to survive it all, against all odds? Remember the character that nearly died while saving the life of 10 others and became the hero? Ever wished you could be in that situation? Now you can! You actually get to become your character, be in a battle, cast the magic, and swing the sword.
Shifted Lands LARP takes place in the fantasy world of Aldretha, which is surrounded by an endless sea of magical mist. For hundreds of years lands have shifted into and out of this mist, and for hundreds of years these lands have brought new allies and enemies, heroes and villains, victories and failures… Now a brave new land has opened its doors and exploration is just over the next hilltop.
~ Joshua Brewer, Owner of Shifted Lands
The Michigan Nordic Fire Festival was created in 2016 to celebrate winter, fire, family and fun. As the days start to get longer and days start to warm, we created an opportunity to get outside, throw spears, and try some of the wonderful beers and meads produced in the area.

I’m joining forces with my friends The Doubleclicks and Schaffer the Darklord to bring you the most epic tour of the new decade (so far)! Come help us as we spread the word about Baby Yoda’s candidacy… as we search for his birth certificate. In a world of division… this is one thing we can all agree on!
