CARPS September Event 2016

Central Action Role-Playing Society
We are a high-fantasy LARP (Live Action Role-Playing) group that is currently based in Southeast Michigan. You may already be familiar with tabletop role-playing games (RPGs) such as Dungeons and Dragons or White Wolf products. If you are, the difference between an RPG and a LARP is that RPGs consist of half a dozen or so players sitting around a kitchen table with dice and a single Game Master, whereas a LARP is a cross between an elaborate theatre production, live combat, and a hike in the woods. LARPs such as ours have costuming, boffer weapons, and dozens of players whose actions influence not only what you can accomplish but the course of an entire fantasy world. If you aren’t, well, them’s the basics.

Greetings to all new and prospective players! As always, your first event is free, with a free rewrite should you decide you would rather play a different sort of character or have a different set of skills. (You must be 18 to play.)

Winter Haven 2016 Event #2

The ground itself trembles under the weight of the events to come.

With the dawn of a new year, the Witchwood Hold stands at a precipice. Behind the Heroes who reside there lies a legacy of deeds in which they have bested every foe, turned back every threat and carved from a chaotic land a place they can call home.

Before them, however, the path diverges. Two possibilities and only one certainty…

…the certainty that one of those paths leads to darkness and ruin. It is a certainty born of knowledge, and their own experiences in a time that was, but is no longer. The Heroes of the Witchwood turned back the clock and have made great strides against the fate they once knew.

Is it enough? The weapon they possess is incomplete, and the greatest threat they have known thus far now walks the land. The Black King searches for the keys to unlock the power with which he nearly brought the world to its knees. Only a few brave, stalwart men and women stand between him and the completion of his tyrannical ambition.

But there is hope.

The Heroes of the Witchwood are that hope. Assets have been gained, knowledge has been acquired, friends and allies have been brought to their side.

Trials are coming. Will they stand fast and unite as one, or will a craven traitor from within their own ranks seal their doom?

War is coming. Will they fight this war bravely as Heroes, or will they lose their only chance to spare their land from the Black Campaign?

The time is coming. What will YOU do?

Will you join the fight? Will you lend your blade, bow or voice to the Witchwood on this, the eve of its darkest hour?

Choose your path, tell your tale, find your destiny.

Winterhaven is coming.

Final Haven LARP Event #3 2016

Final Haven is a flourishing LARP which was developed, tested, and currently operates out of the Midwestern United States.

The Final Haven world is a post-apocalyptic medieval fantasy realm which blends the intrigue, ingenuity, and diverse backgrounds of its players to solve physical and mental challenges.

We believe that teamwork, combat, puzzle solving, and of course a sense of humor, blend to form an exciting and dynamic environment for players and GMs alike.

Character Creation is easy and the rules system has been simplified greatly from many other LARP experiences to help new players integrate quickly. Additionally, many of our players find that the rapid early advancement system in our game helps them become quickly involved in the long-term story arcs, and in the political aspects of the game.
