Drunk on Comics is a weekly podcast that focuses on comics. I talk with the co-founder Tony McKay about comics, comics, and more comics. Plus, we talk about the podcast, favorite guests, con families, and a whole lot more in this very fun conversation. Put this on in the background like a……..podcast.
Once again, I travelled north to the Cherry Capital Comic Con. This convention takes place at the Grand Traverse Resort during Memorial Day weekend. 2018 marked the 10 year anniversary of the event. What was in store for the attendees? Who did they bring for this momentous celebration? How was my experience this time around? Read on to find out.

We talk about a new comic book that he’s featured in, his experiences on the Fireball Run, and his bond with George Carlin. We also talk about pc gaming, stand up comedy, his new podcast, and the upcoming movies he will be featured in.
Gene Ha is an Eisner Award winning artist who has collaborated with the perennial Allen Moore to create Top 10 and Top 10: The Forty-Niners. We dive into his creator owned comic, Mae. Plus, we talk about Top 10, comics that have had an impact on him, his admiration for history, anime, manga, and we talk about a wonderful water color artist too. This interview was recorded at two separate times to capture all that I wanted to ask about his new comic Mae. Enjoy this interview with one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of interviewing.
C4 is Northern Michigan’s largest comic book and pop entertainment expo. Located at the scenic Grand Traverse Resort, C4 is Northern Michigan’s perfect gathering of comic book creators, exhibitors, and fans. Cherry Capital Comic Con (C4) is a comic book convention that celebrates the medium of comics, rather than a specific genre. At C4, all comics are equal, as are their creators and their fans. The organizers of C4 intend to prove to the world that comic conventions – just like comic fans and the comics, themselves – don’t have to be “this” or “that”. They can just be what they are…which is simply “cool”. Connect with your favorite creators at a variety of panels. Meet up and coming talent in Artist’s Alley. Find great deals on comics and collectable merchandise at our gathering of exhibitors. Participate in our costume contest, with categories for both adults and children.
A geekfest, a sci-fi fandom, a cool comic con and an a LARP event are in store for you this week.
Don’t know what to do for the week? Well, check out what’s going on for this weekend.
I returned back to the Capital City Comic Con after a two year break. Here are my photos from Lansing’s own comic con.
The Cherry Capital Comic Con (C4) was held at the Grand Traverse Resort during Memorial Day weekend. My trip to the convention, last year, left me with a good impression. I enjoyed my time at this event to warrant a return trip to C4. How did this year compare to my time last year? Did I enjoy my time? Find out.
